Invisible Theatre is a form of performance in which the show is enacted in a place where people would not normally expect to see a show, for example in the street or in a shopping centre.

Current examples of invisible theatre are freeze mobbing on Circular Quay; mobile clubbing throughout the world; and a mass pillow fight in London.

As part of Youth Week 2009 in Newcastle, Tantrum Theatre is producing a piece of invisible theatre that will require synchronising of watches and offer the opportunity to stand out in the crowd! We will create a host of characters to experiment with, and will ‘perform’ throughout the Youth Day event on Saturday 4th April.

Workshops leading up to the event will take place at PAN (Performing Arts Newcastle) on Saturday 21st March, Saturday 28th March and Saturday 4th April 2009 between 10 and 12, with the performance taking place between 1pm and 3pm at the “Where’s The Ferris Wheel?” Newcastle Youth Week event at the Newcastle Foreshore on Saturday 4th April.
